Hafnova reaches a new milestone with the release of Link Guard, its first browser protection extension. This initial availability on Firefox marks an important step for the company, which continues to pursue its goal of making its cybersecurity intelligence accessible as close as possible to everyday usage. The official extension listing on Firefox indicates that Link Guard blocks risky sites by leveraging Hafnova ThreatDB, with configurable threat tags, an explicit blocked page, and an option for temporary access when the user chooses to accept the risk.

With Link Guard, Hafnova brings a core part of ThreatDB's value directly into the browser. The extension allows users to configure which threat categories to enforce, manually test a domain from the toolbar popup, and review the classification of a destination before or during navigation. According to Mozilla Add-ons, Link Guard queries the ThreatDB service to determine whether a hostname is listed in the master database and which tags are associated with it. Depending on which tags an organization exposes, teams can stress priorities such as phishing and scam protection, malicious link and domain blocking, script- and download-related risk, and safer browsing grounded in domain intelligence.

This release reflects a clear direction: bringing cyber intelligence as close as possible to the end user, through every useful channel and in formats that are simple to deploy. By choosing a browser extension, Hafnova offers a layer of protection that is immediately usable, without heavy infrastructure, while maintaining a direct link to its threat detection and qualification capabilities. The Firefox version currently published is 1.1.7, listed under the Privacy & Security and Alerts & Updates categories on the Mozilla store.

This launch is only the first step. Hafnova now aims to make the extension available on other major browsers to further expand access to this protection, with work underway for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Chromium, and Safari. Through Link Guard, Hafnova confirms its commitment to bringing threat intelligence closer to real-world usage, directly where browsing decisions are made.
